Cleaning the Sensor Assembly
Note, in some cases, contamination of the sensor is the only cause of the
additional heat transfer during the “no ow” test. Remove the sensor, and
clean the sensor (use an appropriate non-corrosive solvent to remove the build-up). A soft brush can
be used to gently clean the sensing surface, using caution to avoid damaging the sensor elements.
Once clean, re-install the sensor as per the instruction manual.
Contact ONICON Service for assistance if the mW readings differ by more than ± 10mW.
CLIMATE ACTION RESERVE LANDFILL PROJECT PROTOCOL VER. 4.0 JUNE 29, 2011
ONICON’s zero ow calibration test complies with the requirements of section 6.2 for eld checking
the ow sensor for calibration accuracy. Percent drift can be determined by multiplying the mW
change from factory value (see 2) by 1.0% (i.e. each mW change equals 1% drift).
The Climate Action Reserve is a national offsets program working to ensure integrity, transparency
and nancial value in the U.S. carbon market. It does this by establishing regulatory-quality
standards for the development, quantication and verication of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions
reduction projects in North America.
